Bastakiya Area –

This area is one of the oldest residential areas in Dubai. Named after the Bastak region of Iran, this place is known for its unique architecture. Every house in this area has a wind tower, called “barjeel” and number of “barjeels” in the house indicates the wealth of the owner family. This is a lovely area to wander around and gives a great feeling about olden days in Dubai. This place is definitely must visiting for all residents and tourists alike.

 

Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary –

If you are a nature’s true admirer, Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary will not disappoint you. This prominent wetland reserve is known to attract a large number of migratory birds. One can get to see a variety of fishes, crustaceans, small mammals and birds.

 

Dubai Flea Market –

This is possibly the best place to spend an afternoon. This is an amazing place to buy stuffs like clothes, furniture, textiles, ceramics, and antiques. The Dubai Flea Market consists of many non-commercial vendors selling exclusively home-made artifacts. Roaming in this market would be a great chance to know about the rich Emirate culture and meet the locals.
