Sharjah Classic Cars Museum is located on the Airport Road between the 4th and 5th intersection, right opposite Sharjah Discovery Centre and next to Sharjah International Airport.

Sharjah Classic Cars Museum Sections

The Sharjah Traditional Car Museum has been around since 2008 and showcases more than 100 classic cars, and the residents and tourists can visit to see these cars on display, some of which were built in the early 20th century. The museum is divided into five sections consisting of various models from Model T Ford to a 1974 MG Midget to 1969 Mercedes Pullman Limousine that’s custom made, especially for Sharjah's Ruler one out of 2,000 in the world. These classic cars are carefully restored, buffed out until you can see your reflection.

The Sharjah Classic Cars Museum has an aura that brings back a century of car history where you can explore extensive collections of classic cars, classic motorcycles, and bicycles dating back to the beginning of the early 20th century. We can learn more about their manufacturing and stories of the car industry and many other interesting and exciting facts. There’s also an interactive area for the kids with puzzles and a cool driving simulator.

The Sharjah Classic Car Museum is a heaven on earth for classic car enthusiasts and attracts many tourists and visitors worldwide. An interesting fact is that the oldest car in the museum dates back to 1915. The visitors get to read all about the brilliant innovators. The latter was behind the manufacturing of these glamorous beasts and admired their efforts of offering humanity the most remarkable innovations that have contributed to the evolution of urbanization as they have provided the best means of transportation and travel.

Let’s get to know a bit more about the few beauties resting in the Sharjah classic car museum:

  • The 1915 Dodge model is the oldest car in the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum and no doubt one of the best cars in the market worth buying after its initial launch.
  • The 1957 Bedford Model is used for military purposes in the UAE. It’s a British-made truck that has six cylinders and a speed of a maximum of 70 miles per hour. The Bedford company manufactured a series of heavy vehicles, including trucks, buses, fire trucks, military vehicles, and light trucks, with their last car manufactured in 1985.
  • The 1969 Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman, one of the 2,677 vehicles that were manufactured. This beauty belongs to His Highness Dr. Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah.The first of its kind was launched in the year 1963. It witnessed a sharp production decrease during the seventies oil crisis. Post that, the Mercedes 600 series was only manufactured upon request, making it an approximate of only 25 cars produced per year. The last one built was in the year 1981. The features of Mercedes 600 Pullman are the unique specifications, including hydraulic seat adjustments and doors and windows control. By the way, a remarkable fact about the model in the museum is that it’s completely bulletproof!
  • They also display four-wheel drive as well as the UAE taxis from the good old days.

Other than classic vintage car models, there is a display of the first fuel stations and a display of the first cycles invented. While the cars are show stoppers in the museum, you can also look at old retro car advertisement displays and more. Also, before leaving, stop by the souvenir shop near the information desk at the entrance where you can pick up a little souvenir of any of the Sharjah classic cars for you or someone special who loves cars.

Sharjah Classic Car Museum ticket

Tickets vary from AED 10 for adults over the age of 13, AED 5 for children ages 2 to 12, and children under two, and senior citizens 60 years old and above can enter for free in the museum. They follow strict hygiene rules and keep up with all the Covid precaution protocols to make your experience with your friends and family as less worrisome as possible. The Museum is budget-friendly and super informative for the kids, and a treat for all car lovers.
