Cheat on the Heat by Visiting These Popular Beaches in Dubai

Last Updated: January 24, 2019

With a huge number of luxury hotels, go-getting growth plans, and a set of specially made islands, Dubai has come a long way since its origins as a small fishing town. In today’s time Dubai is mainly known for its radiant skyscrapers and the arid dunes of the desert, but over the past few years, with more than 1,000 km of coastline, the desert city is now making waves as one of the world's best new beach escapes. Having a long coastline with white sand Dubai beaches and crystal clear waters, this city gives fierce competition to any tropical island!

Unlike other coastal destinations, beaches in Dubai are enthralling hotspots. Offering a family-friendly environment and having beautiful parks nearby, these beaches are perfect picnic spots as well. If you are looking for a short break in the sun or planning for a family beach holiday, beaches in Dubai hold the key for that.

Let’s have look at the most popular beaches in Dubai

1. Jumeirah Public Beach

This is one of the oldest and most popular beaches in Dubai. Being the favorite beach for families too you can enjoy water-sports, banana boating, camel rides and many such exciting things here. It is about 3km long and is divided into two areas one for swimming and one for water sports.

2. La Mer

In the heart of Old Dubai La Mer  is the city’s newest beach. This sparkling dining, shopping, and leisure arcade promises a wonderful day by the sea, with scores of eateries, colorful cabanas for hire, a trampoline playground for the kids, Instagram-worthy art installations and the brand new Laguna waterpark, which boasts a Lazy River ride, five waterslides, and a surf machine. Don’t miss the chance to recline in one of the in-water hammocks, slung just off the shore.

3. Sunset Beach

Also known with other names as Umm Suqeim Beach, this beach is an unending hive of activity and one of the emirate's most beautiful stretches of sand that gets you the best side of Dubai’s iconic hotel, Burj Al Arab.

4. Black Palace Beach

Featuring views of Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab in the distance, this beach offers the calmest waters and most eye-catching sunsets in the city. Though there are no facilities at this beach, it is a great place to relax and escape the bustle of the city.

5. Al Mamzar Beach Park

With lush barbecue areas, landscaped playground and lagoons, this expansive park and beach are perfect for a day out with the family. It also provides the facility to rent a sun lounge, or book a private, air-conditioned beach bungalow to avail more exclusive experience.

6. Kite Beach

A number of tourists visit this place specifically to enjoy water sports and participate in kite surfing. Soft and clean sand with pristine white texture is perfect to relax your soul. There are a lot of facilities available too, which make your time worthwhile here.

So, whether you’re heading out for the whole day, searching for places to eat, huts to rent, for places with water sports, or if you just want to feel the sand between your toes and want to relax for a couple of hours, these popular beaches in Dubai will absolutely have something to take your fancy.
